Workshop, shop and offices under one roof. The irregular footprint, measuring up to 32.5 × 23.5 m, divides the building into a tall workshop and adjoining ancillary areas. The following specifications describe the design.

• Space for heavy machinery: The 11.42 m high main hall is designed as an open space extending to the roof. It includes provision for a 5 t crane and four sectional doors.
• Frames and a robust floor: Steel frames spaced at 6 m centres stand on reinforced-concrete pad and strip foundations. The workshop floor is designed in 200 mm C30/37 concrete with two layers of welded mesh and 6 × 6 m jointed bays.
• Wall protection and fire design: The concrete plinth reaches 1.2 m in the workshop and 0.6 m elsewhere. Walls combine 100 mm PIR and mineral-wool panels; the roof uses 120 mm mineral-wool panels.
• Ancillary areas on three floors: A ground-floor shop and sanitary facilities are complemented by offices, a meeting room and staff facilities upstairs. The design specifies triple-glazed windows and ground-source heat-pump heating with boreholes.
