What exactly did we build?
About the project
The depository protects the findings with a stable internal environment. The hall of Masaryk University has a height of 4.95 m and a gable roof with a slope of 6°.
- Supporting structure: IPE 240 and IPE 360 columns complement IPE 270 trusses.
- Two insulating layers: PUR panels 120 mm on the walls and roof are complemented by a suspended ceiling: EPS 160 mm, vapor barrier, trapezoid TP 153 and air gap. The brick plinth is insulated with 80 mm boards.
- Light without significant heat loss: The polycarbonate skylight is 10 × 2.5 m. The triple-glazed plastic windows have U = 1.0 W/m²K, the aluminum insulated lift-and-open door 1.2 W/m²K.
- Durable floor: Polished reinforced concrete 126 mm with filling, on waterproofing and underlying concrete screed, reduces dust and transfers the load of the racks.
- Scope of delivery: We provided the steel, cladding and skylight. The contractor supplied the floors, brickwork and windows and doors. The casing is RAL 7035 outside and RAL 9010 inside.
The implementation took 30 days; the shell, soffit and plinth together dampen temperature and humidity fluctuations around long-term stored collections.
